Changing Lives on the Water, One Sail at a Time

At the Shoalwater Bay Sailing Foundation, we believe that everyone—regardless of age, income, or background—deserves the chance to experience the joy and life lessons that sailing offers. Since launching our community-based programs, we've created hands-on opportunities that teach confidence, teamwork, problem-solving, and stewardship of our incredible coastal environment.

⛵ What We’ve Accomplished

  • 36+ individuals started our free summer sailing programs, ranging in age from 5 to 74

  • 20+ Students Enrolled in our high school boat-building and fiberglass repair program in partnership with Ilwaco High School

  • 50+ Community Volunteers Engaged across classes, events, and maintenance efforts
  • Countless Smiles and Life-Changing Experiences sparked by time on the water

🌊 Why It Matters

We’re not just teaching sailing—we’re building confidence, leadership, and a love of the sea. We’re restoring a maritime tradition on Willapa Bay, opening up new paths for our local youth, and creating a future where the water belongs to everyone.

🛠 Building More Than Boats

From our high school shop classes to weekend regattas and family potlucks at the Shoalwater Bay Yacht Club, the Foundation’s programs are woven into the heart of this community. We’re teaching skills that lead to maritime jobs. We’re building boats—and futures.
