The Shoalwater Bay Sailing Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to sailing, maritime education, and environmental stewardship on Willapa Bay. Based in Pacific County, Washington—one of the 120 poorest counties in the United States—our mission is rooted in equity and inclusion.

We believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, explore, and thrive on the water—regardless of income, background, or ability. We thrive because of the people who show up—with their time, their talents, their donations, and their heart. Whether you're a salty old sailor, a landlocked enthusiast, a local business, or just someone who believes in the power of community and the water—we've got a spot for you.

Our volunteers are the wind in our sails. We’re always looking for folks who want to lend a hand—on the water, in the classroom, or behind the scenes.

Opportunities include:

  • Sailing instructors and safety boat drivers (we’ll train you!)

  • Dock and gear crew

  • Boat maintenance and repair

  • Youth mentors and class helpers

  • Event support (regattas, fundraisers, community days)

  • Marketing, fundraising, or admin help

💸 Donate or Sponsor a Program

Every dollar goes directly to teaching kids to sail, building boats, and expanding access to the water. Want to make your gift more personal? You can sponsor a specific student, a regatta, or even help us add a new boat to our fleet.
